For those who are looking for a fresh breath of air in the urban fantasy scene, Nalini Singh’s Guild Hunter series is a pretty good choice.
We get the usual vampires and a kick-ass hunter, but with some additions that make our hero Elena Deveraux stand out a little from the crowd.
She is good at what she does, and that gives confidence in finishing all the jobs she has been hired to do.
Her next assignment, however, seems to be much more demanding than what she is used to. This time she has to go after an angel; Archangel Raphael. Can she grow up to the task, or will it be her last job?
You are heading into a superbly built world, where you can forget about all what you thought life was.

She is short but certainly strong and all dark creatures of the night fear her. If they don’t, then it is a big mistake. Everything goes as planned until Anita meets the ruthless, the terrible, and a little too handsome master vampire, Jean-Claude.
She is attracted to her but with the habit of hunting down all bloodsuckers, this romance may not end well. Not just yet.
Guilty Pleasures ( First of the Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter series.) by Laurell K. Hamilton is a fun, quite unique romance book about vampires, that has some surprises for its readers.

There is a hot man, of course, but the blood-sucking is done by an irresistible female vampire, Lissianna. She has been looking for the perfect match for centuries.
It took a while, but better later than never. She has found a really good specimen, Dr. Hewitt, who actually seems to be more open to the whole vampire seduction thing than Lissianna would have ever hoped.
The story is pretty well written, and quite entertaining throughout.
A Quick Bite (First of the Argeneau series.) by Lynsay Sands is a great read for adults, who just cannot have enough of vampire love stories, but looking for a female vampire lead for a change.

It all sounds great but her plan quickly has to change when vampire bounty hunter Bones captures her. She manages to make a deal with him and they begin training together.
Time passes and Catherine begins to pounder; maybe not all vampires are so terrible. She actually grows pretty fond of him and starts a new life as a hunter herself.
The book is an absolute delight, it is exciting, fun, and full of surprises.
Halfway to the Grave (First of the Night Huntress book series) by Jeaniene Frost is more than just one of the best romantic vampire books. It teaches a lesson about how important it is to learn more about others before judging them.

The story itself is not necessarily something completely new, you may have come across a similar fantasy fiction books with vampires, but still, it is very much entertaining read with great characters.
Dark Lover (first in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series) by J.R. Ward is a lusty, fun book which full of action and hot scenes. If you enjoy romantic vampire books, then this is going to make your next evening in.
2| Interview with the Vampire (The Vampire Chronicles, #1) by Anne Rice | 1976

It is certainly not the first time and definitely won’t be the last Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles gets acknowledgment as one of the best romance books about vampires.
The first book swept the world in 1976, then the movie in 1994, because both were just stunning. This gothic horror brought vampires back into the spotlight after nearly half a century.
Anne Rice is a very thorough writer, she keeps an eye on all details and doesn’t leave anything without explanation. That makes her series so remarkable; it is complex, yet not boring for a moment.
The characters are all fascinatingly alive and the story is truly exciting cover to cover. The romance part is also perfectly inserted, it is not a dripping kind of love story, but is very emotional and captivating.
Interview with the Vampire (First book of The Vampire Chronicles series.) by Anne Rice is definitely the best gothic horror story with romance written in the 20th century.
1| Dracula by Bram Stoker | 1897

Here is another one of a kind classic, that has significantly changed the world of vampire stories. Bram Stoker’s Dracula was a genre maker, at its release at the end of the 19th century, there were very few gothic horrors with vampires.
When the fresh-out English solicitor Jonathan Harker is asked by his employer to meet a client in Transylvania, things look normal, but upon his arrival to the area, everything seems to take a terrible turn.
The count is a pretty odd person, despite his kind hospitality, he soon has to realize that he is indeed a prisoner. After escaping the real horrors begin.
Dracula flees to another country and Van Helsing the famous vampire hunter joins to hunt the feared count down.
During all Harker meets Mina, whom he falls desperately in love with. He is not alone with those feelings, can he win her heart and stay alive?
Dracula by Bram Stoker is without doubt the most remarkable romance vampire novel we have read. Especially since Stoker was among the first ones to write such a romantic gothic horror novel.
