8| Wake Up Sid (2009)
It’s a really fun romantic Bollywood movie with Ranbir Kapoor and Konkona Sen Sharma.
Ranbir’s character Sid is a super annoying spoiled man-child who fails his last year in college. His father wants him to work and gain some life experience but after a big fight, he leaves home only with his clothes.
He decides to visit Aisha, a young girl he recently met and helped to settle in Mumbai. Sid finally realizes that things aren’t’ just given to everyone in life. Aisha helps him to finally grow up.
While I found it hard to relate to Sid it’s a really enjoyable movie, with great acting and good jokes.
Wake Up Sid is a fun and modern Bollywood love story from 2009.

7| Love Per Square Foot (2018)

While both actors Anushka Sharma and Aamir Khan did an amazing job with their characters Aamir clearly steals the show. PK is just as funny and charming as he is weird.

I majored in English and History at Smith. I designed my history concentration to focus on South Asia. I was hoping to go to India for my junior year abroad, but I was too scared and broke. I loved learning about all aspects of S. Asian culture, including Bollywood movies. I cannot wait to check these out. My poor husband is in for a treat, hehe, since he prefers the Punisher.
When I moved to Indo, my students were fascinated with Japanese anime, American music, English football, and Bollywood movies. They would ask if they could come over to watch Slum Dog Millionaire (which I definitely don’t associate that much with Bollywood).
