10 best anime songs for Christmas that even your family will love

by | Dec 24, 2017 | 1 | 📡 GEEKISH, 🎵 MUSIC |

Are you getting a little bored of hearing the same Christmas songs over and over again every year? Mee too. Check out the best anime songs you can put on to have a merrier Christmas. Christmas songs can be joyful and comforting. The only problem that they’ll start to play the same songs from December 1th until Christmas. Which gives one plenty to get bored of them and to turn joy & comfort into annoyance and sometimes even anger.

I was always a big fan of not just the animes but also anime music. They are mostly quality music, created by artists who really know how to reach your soul. These are my favorite anime songs for Christmas, not exactly Christmas songs. But these songs make me joyful, give me comfort and there is no better time to feel these two things than at Christmas.

1| Howl’s Moving Castle OST – by Joe Hisaishi

Howl’s moving castle was my first anime love and anime music love. Basically all Hayao Miyazaki animes are perfect and their soundtrack too… but this one has a special place in my heart. Both the anime and the music is so hopeful and poztive. And I think we need a lot of these things during the holidays.

2| Your Name OST – (Kataware Doki) by Radwimps

Not just the music but one of the most beautiful scenes I’ve seen in anime. First, the manga and then the anime conquered the world. Its soundtrack is emotional and pleasing. It serves a couple of peaceful and beautiful moments for sure.

3| Naruto OST –  Sadness and Sorrow by Toshiro Masuda

Maybe it’s weird but this song doesn’t make me sad. It makes me melancholic, emotional. Brings back memories not necessarily bad ones but deeply emotional. Christmas is a perfect time to reflect on the past, remember and commit to doing better, to be better in the future. To ourselves and to others as well.

4| Fullmetal Alchemist OST – Bratja by Beda & Ooshima Michiru

Fullmetal Alchemist is one of the best shows ever created. The characters, the storyline, its sense of humor, and the music fits perfectly to every moment. Even the highly emotional ones. Doesn’t matter if you know the anime or not these songs will make you smile. But seriously, watch the show if you haven’t already. This anime is on our Best Anime Series List too!

5| 5 Centimeters Per Second OST – Hontou no Oto by Kokia

Kokia is a real-life Japanese siren. I love all of her songs. And of course, she was chosen to do the music for 5 centimeters per second. This anime made millions cry but it also showed us what should real relationships be like. This and any other Kokia song is a perfect choice for a calm, happy Christmas night.

6| Laputa Castle In The Sky OST – by Joe Hisaishi

Another perfect OST from Ghibli studio and the fantastic Joe Hisaishi. You probably have seen this anime on many Top Anime Lists and for a good reason. And its music is just as joyful and comforting as the anime itself.

7| Death Parade OST – Moonlit Night by Hayashi Yuki

One of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard. Even its title is gorgeous. It’s a little melancholic but peaceful and also a romantic song. It may make you a little sad if you’re in a bad mood but it can also make you find love again even if your heart was broken before.

8| Guilty Crown OST – Planetes by Egoist

Peaceful and comforting. The beautiful piano solo perfectly blends with the singers’ voices. Women will likely love this song and maybe even the more sensitive males of your family too.

9| Lovely Complex OST – Risa by Hironosuke Satou

This song and the show as well is a little more upbeat and fun. The song is jazzy and joyful just like the character Risa. It’s about two weird kids a girl who is “too tall” and a boy who is “too short” and their awesome friendship. The music perfectly reflects the mood of the show. It’s a perfect fit if you want to listen to something joyful & fun.

10| K-ON! OST – Girls in Wonderland by Shouko Ohmori

This one is a kick-ass rock&roll anime song. Just like the anime. IF you’re looking for something more rock feel-music you should check out K-On! because they know how to rock your world. Its songs are upbeat, fun but they take the rock&roll part pretty seriously too. Their songs are perfect to blast out during Christmas!

Now it’s your turn. What’s your favorite anime song you like to listen to during the holidays?
